Riverside Military Academy's four week Summer Opportunity and Academic Review (S.O.A.R.) is designed to help young men in grades 7 through 11 prepare for the upcoming school year and strengthen their academic skills. This program occurs on Riverside’s beautiful 206 acre campus and is open to young men from any school.
Summer courses offered include Math, English, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, World History, Art, and Creative Writing. The Academy, established in 1907, offers a positive, challenging, and structured environment that stresses hard work in the classroom and on the athletic field. A student/teacher ratio of 14:1 provides each cadet with individual attention that enables success in the classroom and in life. Our summer school program also includes an enhanced focus on ESL and cultural immersion opportunities for our international and foreign language students.
Whether you're looking to strengthen your academic skills with our S.O.A.R. program, attend a camp to develop lifelong leadership skills, or just have fun while earning class credit, Riverside's summer programs offer a wide range of options. Our summer students enjoy many activities including basic marksmanship training and rappelling techniques, swimming in our natatorium, playing basketball in our gymnasium, working on strength training in our weight room, and competing with other cadets in canoe races on Lake Lanier.
Field trips are also offered to attractions such as Six Flags, LanierWorld Water Park at Lake Lanier Islands Resort, shopping and movies at the Mall of Georgia, and whitewater rafting adventures.
Tuition for our 2014 summer program is U.S. Boarding Cadets - $4725; Day Cadets - $2160; International Cadets - $5015; ESL Bridge Program Cadets - $7745. The Academy is just one hour north of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.
