2014 Summer Youth Camp - One Full Bursary Available!
Students! Here’s your chance to immerse yourself in 5 days of creative and inspirational instruction, hands-on technical advice and one-on-one mentoring to take your photographs to a new level. You'll benefit from this exciting workshop regardless of your present level of expertise or equipment you're using. Plus you’ll participate in a final exhibition of your work at ViewPoint Gallery, showcasing your work to friends and family.
Camp Info
Designed for ages 13 – 18, the program will take you from the basics of digital photography to more creative techniques such as:
Composition Lighting Light Painting Pin Hole photography 3D photography
There will be group discussions and critiques of printed images, field trips to put new skills to practical use and at the end of the program you’ll get a chance to participate in an exhibition of your work at ViewPoint Gallery!
In 2014 ViewPoint is delighted to offer a FULL BURSARY for one student who applies to this workshop. The bursary will allow the student to participate in the program at no cost to them. It will be awarded on the basis of both merit and need. Students who are interested in applying should write a letter to the Board of Directors of ViewPoint Gallery stating their interest in photography, reason for wishing to take the workshop and their particular need for the bursary. Deadline for applications is July 27, 2014. The bursary recipient will be contacted by August 2, 2014.
Professional instruction by Cory Hill
Cory Hill, a former Exhibiting ViewPoint Member, has received his Interdisciplinary Bachelor of Fine Art Degree from NSCAD University with a focus on Photography and Art History. Eager to share his passion for teaching with respect to the visual arts, Cory has a keen interest in pushing the boundaries of conventional learning in areas such as Camera Making workshops and 3D Photography.
