Enrichment at JKCP is a summer pre-college enrichment program for high school students that is designed to let you explore new subjects, make friends from all over the world, and experience college life at Villanova University. You’ll choose two classes each week in areas such as pre-college academics, business, the arts, cooking, sports, and sciences. Choose one class for the morning and one class for the afternoon. With over 40 classes to choose from each week, you’ll easily find classes that are right for you!

Learning in a dynamic, hands-on environment. Discover new skills and passions while exploring future majors or careers before heading off to college. Plus, the evenings are always filled with something fun to do and the weekend trips let you explore the East Coast and Philadelphia. It’s an amazing pre-college summer experience for teens like no other.

Pre-College Experience

Villanova University

As a pre-college enrichment summer program student, you get to experience life at Villanova. From meeting your new roommate, walking to class on the beautiful campus, eating in the dining halls, and taking classes in the historic buildings, you’ll get a taste of what life as a college student is really like. You’ll love the modern facilities, air conditioned dorms, snack shops, WiFi and state-of-the-art athletic spaces.

Dorm Life

The dorms are the hub of the Krinsky community. You’ll live in a recently renovated, air-conditioned dormitory. Centrally located, it’s within steps of the dining center, bookstore, coffee shops, movie theater and classrooms. Most of the rooms are spacious doubles and complete with beds, desks, chairs and dressers. Each wing of the dorm has bathrooms you’ll share with your dorm mates. Plus, spacious lounges in the dorms are a great place to hang out with friends.

Residential Advisors

You’ll also have a team of residential advisors who live in the dorm on the same floor as you. Residential advisors are responsible for helping you make friends, dorm life, entertainment, evening activities and weekend trips.

Meals

On Campus Meals

You’ll eat breakfast, lunch, and most dinners during the week at the campus dining center. On the weekends, breakfast on Saturday and brunch and dinner on Sunday are served on campus. The food at camp is typical of a college cafeteria. You are given the freedom to make your own choices. Salad, fruit, vegetables, sandwich deli bar and different hot entrees accompany each lunch and dinner.

Off Campus Meals

We also understand you might like to eat out, which is why we have built in one evening per week to eat off campus at a restaurant. You will also dine off campus while on your weekend trips. Maybe you want to take the time to sit down with friends at the beach or grab a quick bite on your way to the next site in NYC. Off campus meals are at your expense.

Dietary Needs

The food is typical of a college cafeteria, and you are given the freedom to make your own choices. There are always multiple options available for each meal including vegetarian choices. If you have special dietary needs or allergies, please contact us prior to your arrival.

Medical

If you don’t feel well, just let your residential advisor know and we’ll help you get better in no time. Chances are you won’t need it, but we have a nurse and doctor on-call and are minutes from the region’s top hospitals. As long as you keep taking any medicine you normally do at home, eat right and get some sleep, you should have nothing to worry about.

Safety

Safety on and off campus is always our number one priority. At Enrichment we understand as high school aged students you generally want a little more freedom. We have found a residential advisor to student ratio of approximately 1:10 is the perfect balance of freedom coupled with safe supervision. You’re always required to stay in groups of three or more and required to check-in at regular intervals during any off campus trips or activities.

The Philadelphia International Airport is about 20 minutes from campus.
There are nearly 600 daily arrivals from 120 cities, including 36 international destinations.
The Amtrak train also goes right to Philadelphia’s 30th Street Station.

Residential Tuition Explained

$1,895 per week (Three or More weeks: $1,795 per week)

A deposit of $375 of the total tuition is due within seven days of submitting the application.

Cancellation Insurance

We strongly suggest purchasing Cancellation Insurance. The price of the insurance is $90 per week for residential programs and your coverage must be purchased and paid in full within seven days of application confirmation. If Cancellation Insurance is purchased, any fees paid to JKCP other than the Nonrefundable Application Fee, Nonrefundable Deposit and Nonrefundable Cancellation Insurance Fees are covered by this policy and will be refunded when you withdraw at least fourteen days prior to your session’s start date.

Payment Options

Application Fee and Deposit

We require a deposit and application fee at the time of application to secure your spot in the program. Your balance may be paid via cash, check, wire transfer or credit card. All payments paid by credit card will have an additional fee. Charges will appear on your credit card statement as “JKST, Inc.”

Financial Aid

You may request a scholarship by completing our financial aid application form. If approved, any adjustments are normally made in the form of partial tuition reduction, which is typically no more than 5-25% off the tuition price. We also recommend looking into community and non-profit foundation scholarship funds. There are many foundations that support summer program tuition.

There really is no “typical” day at Enrichment.

However, it is a question we are asked often. So, we outlined a sample schedule for you. The time in class remains consistent while evening times will vary daily depending on what activities we have planned.

Saturday Trips

Full Day, Jam Packed Trips!

Trips are offered every Saturday to regional destinations of your choice. We leave campus after breakfast on air-conditioned motor coaches and return after dinner. Remember to bring some spending money for off campus meals and any souvenirs you might want to buy!

One of the best parts of JKCP is the activities. Every evening there is a planned event. Sometimes we stay on campus, and other nights we’ll travel to a local venue for an off campus activity.

FAQ's

How many classes do I take per week?: Every week you will take two classes. One morning class from 9:30am to 12:00pm and another afternoon class from 1:30pm to 4:00pm.
Can I mix and match classes in any subject area?: Yes, we have over 40 classes to choose from in the arts, sciences, business, cooking, academics and sports. You can choose two classes in any subject every week.
How do I choose my classes?: Review the class schedule ahead of time with your parents. Make sure they are classes you are both happy with. You may also schedule a consult with our academic director at 610.265.9401 x56.
When do I pick my classes?: After you apply, you can log into your account to upload your class selections.
How long are the classes?: Every day, each class is 2.5 hours long. For the whole week, you will be in each of your classes for 12.5 hours.
How do I get to my classes?: You will walk with staff the first two days of the program. After that, walk with the other students in your class. Staff members are always available to walk with students or point them in the right direction.
What if I do not like my classes?: We strongly encourage you to try the class that you originally selected. If for some reason, you really do not like your class, we do give you the option to choose a new class within the first two days.
What are the qualifications of your teachers?: They are experts in their field and excel at teaching this age group. No matter what subject, they deliver knowledegable instruction that is fun, engaging, and helps students learn. We have a completely separate staff that focuses on residential life.
Will I go off campus for classes?: Sometimes we go off campus for classes or field trips. If so, you will be traveling on JKCP buses, JKCP vans or by a professional transportation company.

What is it like to live at Villanova University?: It is a beautiful, suburban college. You'll live in a shared dorm with one or two other students and on a hall with about 30 students of the same gender. There are common areas where you can hang out with friends, play games, call home, or just relax.
What are the dorms like?: The dorms are typical of college housing. They are air-conditioned and furnished with a bed, dresser, and a desk. The bathrooms are shared with other students on your floor.
Are linens and bedding provided?: Bring your own, or for $65 JKCP will provide a fitted and flat sheet, bath towel, a pillow, pillowcase and blanket. Select this option when completing your pre-summer forms. Linen is included as part of the international student package.
What else is available to me while living in the dorms?: A snack shop is located in the dormitories where you can purchase beverages, candy and snacks and hang out with counselors and friends. We also have an on campus bank where you can get spending money from your account (which is managed by your parents).
What are the bathrooms like?: The bathrooms were recently renovated. They are shared by everyone on the hall, which is about 30 people of the same gender. There are about 6 sinks and 6 shower stalls in each bathroom, so there are plenty for everyone to share.
How do I do my laundry?: For $25 per week you may use the JKCP Laundry Service and your laundry will be done for you. As laundry service is done on Tuesdays this is ideal for those staying for 2 or more weeks.
Do I have to clean my room?: You are responsible for keeping your private space neat, clean, and presentable. Hallways and bathrooms are cleaned daily by the colleges.
What is supervision in the dorms like?: Residential Advisors (RAs) live in the dorms near the students. The RAs are typically between the ages of 20 and 25. There is a 10 to 1 student to staff ratio. All RAs go through extensive FBI background checks and fingerprinting every year.
What time do we go to sleep?: As long as you are in your rooms and being quiet, we do not enforce a bedtime. However, curfew to be on your floor is 10pm and 10:30pm is curfew to be in your room.

How do I pay by check?: Checks may be made payable to Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs. We respectfully ask that you send your balance in on time and address to: Enrichment, Julian Krinsky Camps & Programs, 610 S. Henderson Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406, USA.
What is cancellation insurance?: We recommend cancellation insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances, sudden illness or injury to you or a family member, or a change in plans. It is $90 per week for residential programs and must be paid within 7 days of your application.
How much spending money should students bring to camp?: The amount of spending money you bring is at your discretion. However, we suggest bringing approximately $100–$125 per week for laundry, off-campus meals, snacks and personal expenses and should be in the form of cash, debit or check card.

How do I apply for financial aid?: We aim to ensure that qualified students have the opportunity to attend the program, regardless of personal financial circumstances. To be considered for need-based aid, you are required to submit the financial aid application and applicable forms.

What is the staff to student ratio?: There is approximately 1 residential advisor for every 10 students.
Is Villanova University safe?: Villanova University is very safe. It is a small and self-contained suburban campus with 24/7 on campus security. All dorms and most classroom buildings have key card access only.
How are the weekend trips supervised?: Trips are always well-supervised. The level of supervision varies based on your age and the locations of the trips (e.g. a local movie theater vs. New York City or Washington, D.C.). You are allowed to walk in groups of three or more in designated areas.
Who are the residential advisors?: The residential advisors are between the ages of 20-25 and come from all over the world. The directors are typically older and have graduated from college. They all go through extensive FBI background checks and finger printing checks every year.
Do you offer travel insurance?: Yes, students living outside of the U.S. may purchase insurance through AVI by contacting them directly.

What should I bring to camp?: In your pre-summer information packet you will receive a complete packing list including sportswear, sports equipment, linens, and casual clothing. Please leave any valuable personal items at home. We're not responsible for any personal items.
How much free time do we have?: Every weekday you will have free time after lunch. If you finish eating early, you have the remaining time to hang out with friends, go to your dorm room, or relax. You can also use the afternoon activity as free time from 4:15pm to about 5:15pm.
What can you do during your free time?: Enjoy optional afternoon activities and sports. You can also take this time to hang out in your dorms, call home, or just relax.
What is the food like?: The food is typical of a college cafeteria. You are given the freedom to make your own choices. Salad, fruit, vegetables, sandwich deli bar and different hot entrees accompany each lunch and dinner.
What if I have a food allergy?: If you have any special dietary needs or allergies, please contact us prior to your arrival.
What happens if I am sick or injured?: A doctor, nurse practitioner, and trainer are always on call. There is a hospital within five minutes of campus. If you are not feeling well, please tell your instructor or residential advisor immediately.
Do your students come alone or with a friend?: Most of our students attend the program without a friend. Our residential advisors are great at helping students make friends. If you come with a friend we do our best to accommodate rooming requests.
How will I get to and from campus?: You can arrive by car or we offer transportation to and from Philadelphia International Airport or Philly's 30th Street Amtrak Train Station. If you are flying in to or out of another airport we recommend professional driver Robert Folz 610.636.4530.
What time should I arrive at my program?: For residential students, arrival time is Sunday from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. During this time we will assist you with registering and settling in.
What time should I depart at the end of the session?: Departure time from residential programs is on Saturday between 9:00am and 11:00am. You must sign out with one of our head staff. Airline and train departures should be scheduled between 9:00am and 11:00am.
What should I do if I experience a problem while away at camp?: While cell phone use is allowed, please notify the director immediately instead of calling home with any problem that arises. Those who use this direct communication get their problem resolved in the quickest and most professional manner.
What happens if a room key is lost?: We will need a credit card authorization form on file before your arrival on campus. If you lose your room key, the locks will need to be changed and you will be issued a new key and the credit card on file will be charged up to $200.
What is the difference between the residential and day options?: Residential students stay on campus for meals, housing, and evening and weekend activities. Day students are on campus for daily programming and lunch only. Day students can stay for dinner or evening and weekend activities at additional costs.
Can I attend if I live outside the United States?: Every summer we are home to international students from over 40 countries. We do incur additional expenses to accommodate our international students, including airport ground transportation, laundry and linens. We charge $295 per international student.
Do I need to obtain a visa if I live outside the U.S.?: Depending on your home country, some students will need to apply for a visa. If you do, please apply for a tourist visa, not a student visa, and indicate that you will be attending a “summer camp” in the USA. Contact us if you have any questions.
What is your policy on smoking and substance abuse?: We have a zero tolerance policy for the possession and/or use of alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes, vapor devices, weapons, and drugs. Use or possession will result in immediate expulsion and any costs associated are at your expense.
Will we have class on July 4?: Yes! We will have class on July 4th on the normal schedule. We will just do some extra celebrating in the evening by going to see local fireworks.
