Camp Ocean Pines
Camp Ocean Pines Nestled in a beautiful Monterey pine forest that has a 180-degree view of the Pacific Ocean, Camp Ocean Pines has been serving the public for 59 years! We have just completed a major remodel, and are excited to host school groups, leadership teams, church retreats, summer camps, family reunions, and even an occasional wedding. Site Our thirteen-acre site is overlooking the ocean, just a short jaunt to the tide pools and home to many different types of wildlife. Sea lions, owls, and ocean waves will serenade you at night! In fact, while eating lunch on the deck today I saw several whales spouting on their northward migration, I heard the sea lions barking from the ocean rocks below, and as I write this note, I’m watching 3 big bucks and several does walking outside my office! In addition to enjoying our ocean view, we are less than half an hour away from Hearst Castle, Morro Bay, state beaches and parks, quaint shops and fine restaurants, an elephant seal rookery, the rugged beauty of Big Sur, and much more. This is a quiet spot near the village of Cambria – halfway between LA and San Francisco. Facility We are an ideal location for groups of 30 to 120 people. We have two amphitheaters and several buildings where groups can conduct meetings and enjoy a worshipful time in nature. We utilize timber from wind-felled trees as posts, beams and siding for our new straw bale constructed, passive solar designed cabins. The buildings and site plan become real-life lessons in conservation and the wise use of natural resources. The cabins sleep ten people in bunk bed fashion. Our cabins are named after leaders in the arts or sciences, with interior murals to match. Each cabin has it’s own shower and changing stall, 2 sinks, a mirror, and a toilet. Guests bring their own towels, pillows, and bedding. We also have a brand new conference room seating 50 with large decks for break out meetings with a view, 2 amphitheaters, and a dining lodge with fireside room and deck overlooking the gray whale annual migration route. Meals Our chef has started several successful restaurants, and we cook nutritious meals served in our historic lodge overlooking the ocean. Visit Exclusive use of the facility can be guaranteed for groups of 65 or more. Call with questions or for a personal tour.
