The Burnt River Ranch is a real working cattle ranch on over 1,200 acres. Ranch hands must meet application requirements to be accepted for Ranch-hand program. Ranch hands will be matched with one horse and be responsible for that horse for the duration.
The historic ranch provides amazing western activities such as riding fences, feeding cattle, sorting cattle, roping, cattle drives across 5000 acres of public grazing ground, and a ranch rodeo to celebrate this exciting adventure.
Other fun activities include campfire cookouts, hay rides, fishing in the Burnt River, panning for gold, mountan biking, hiking, bottle-feeding baby calves, feeding chickens and collecting eggs. There are so many exciting things to do on a real ranch - it's hard to list them all.
What makes a true hand? Horsemanship. Each ranch hand is paired with one horse for the duration and will learn basic care and ground work through advanced western riding skills.
