Camp TechWise - Seattle

Camp TechWise offers 5-day computer camps in Seattle for kids ages 8 - 16.

Each participant will choose ONE of the “Primary Topics” at the time they enroll.

Photography / Video (short-film): Students will research, script, storyboard, shoot and edit a complete video short film.

Game Creation: Students use game authoring software to build a multi-level computer game

Music / Sound / Video Editing: combine video with sound editing (what is called Multi-Track production) and mix in a heavy dose of singing.

Once at camp kids can decide to stay focused on their Primary Topic or jump into any number of “Secondary Workshops” which are offered throughout each day, which include topics in programming, networking, website development, gaming, and also outside recreation and sports.

• Programming: Intro to Programming. It’s not easy and you will be learning… but it is cool and the results are totally worth it! 

• Digital Photography Workshop: Students select, shoot, manipulate, and present a portfolio & gallery.

• Website Workshop: Our course covers HTML and PHP, Style Sheets and skins (including the popular WordPress, Drupal and Joombla open source themes). 

• Engineering and Robotics Workshop:  put on an “engineering hat” and design, build, solve and innovate their own creations. 

• Linux: Install a Linux-based operating system.   
  

• Networking: Campers connect several computers to create a network.
  

• Scientific Thinking Workshop: Students learn about topics and careers in scientific fields and perform hand-on experiments and discoveries.
  

• Machinima: make funny videos using the 3D animated characters from video games. 

Kids are grouped by their Primary Topics (and divided by age and/or into projects when appropriate). All workshops are designed for all skill levels.

Camp TechWise is the only computer camp giving you optional start and end times to meet your needs. You can begin at 8 AM or 9:30 AM and end the day at 4 PM or 5:30 PM. 

Our customizable computer camp program serves the needs of both the Techy-kids who want full-emersion and also those who are newer to computers or who want a program with a balance of several topics and/or recreation periods.
