Play is God’s inspired work for children and the experience of play can be a “thin place” for children. (“Thin place” is a term from Celtic Spirituality describing places and experiences where the Holy feels very near.) Children need to play to imagine, to learn to work together, to express themselves, to explore their world, to develop an inquiring mind, to process emotions, and to laugh and have fun!
Each day of the programme will explore a different aspect of play through the themes of imagination, friendship, creation, justice, and Sabbath time.
The programme is designed for children ages 5 to 11 years old and will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm each day. Children will participate in storytelling and drama, music, art, games, and craft activities. Snacks are provided and children will need to bring their own lunch.
The cost is $50.00 per child for the week and bursary money (up to $25.00 per child) is available for all families who need help with the cost.
