The Design. Build. Sail. sessions, recommended for first timers, is open to all children ages 8-13. Throughout the week, campers will sail on the Elizabeth River, build underwater robots, explore our new summer traveling exhibition, Drones, and much more. Let them teach you what it takes for a 58,000-ton steel ship to float or how over 6,500 square feet of sails are controlled by a tall ship’s crew! The ultimate ending will involve your child constructing their own makeshift boat to compete with their teammates in a regatta–encompassing all that they’ve learned during the week.
