Hunkapi

Hunkapi Half-Day Camps, Full Day Camps and Overnight Camps are offered Monday through Friday and are designed to challenge the abilities of each camper. Camps will teach riding skills (beginner-intermediate), proper horsemanship, life skills, outdoor recreation skills and complete horse care. Campers will create lasting relationships with others and their horse. Each camper will be assigned a horse to ride and care for the entire week as if it were their own. Campers will receive horsemanship instruction a minimum of 60 minutes each day. The remaining time will be spent on learning fun horse facts, arts and crafts, and horse care. At the end of each session the group will discuss the lessons that they learned for the day and how they will be transferred to life. Riders are grouped by age and riding level. All beginner riders learn to ride using bareback pads to create a more balanced seat and encourage awareness of the horse. More advanced riders are taught in their choice of an English or Western saddle. Ages 7-17: All horse lovers welcome. We will have extra, trained staff available for horse lovers with special needs. Half day and Full Day Camps are in June and Overnight camps are in July!
