CAP Training curriculum for Kent SSAT Plus
For 20 years, Kent Prep has used it's very own CAP- Character, Aptitude, and Passion- Training to instill motivation in our students and parents alike. This hands-on program is described as a moving "life-changing experience" that leaves students with the confidence needed to overcome any academic and social obstacles.
By demand, Kent Prep is tailoring its CAP Training program to address the needs of students who have yet to begin their high school careers.
Our mission is to develop intrinsic motivation through grooming and nurturing while promoting discipline. Kent SSAT Plus is a daily schedule which is meticulously designed to build upon good habits while instilling the value of hard work.
Rigorous Academic Training
Through early planning and practice, students gain entrance to the most prestigious school all over North America through examinations such as SSAT, ISEE, HSPT. The main focus of Kent's curriculum will prepare students for the upcoming academic endeavors by developing their test-taking skills along with confidence, discipline, and intellectual excellence necessary to succeed in high school, college, and beyond.
In addition, Kent's comprehensive model of early immersion in advanced persuasive writing and public speaking skill acquisition, organization and planning, speed reading and extensive vocabulary building prepares students to flourish in high school without becoming overwhelmed.
Modern etiquette training
In our globalized world, students need to speak multiple languages and adapt new cultural mores. And to be successful in life, it is necessary to acquire the correct protocols, such as the mannerisms during important meetings and dinner functions. It is also crucial to learn the social cues in mean of developing effective communication skills needed for particular social arenas. This is a mark of distinction that will make your child peerless.
Outstanding mentorship
We have learned something working with the intellectually gifted—they enjoy setting and achieving goals. Unfortunately, all too often students succumb to peer pressure and push academic interests to the side. We know teens seek out approval and assurance from their peers. That's why we believe it is good chemistry to bring the successful students together; mentoring is highly effective in creating environment where students are active, assertive and energized to help one another. Kent Prep provides students the opportunity to live with mentors who serve to inspire and instill in a safe and nurturing environment. Our approach helps this young, tech-savvy generation embrace this unique and inspiring leadership training.
Getting out of your comfort zone
Extracurricular activities encourage students to explore their adventurous side. Students are expected to pursue a variety of extracurricular activities—be it academic, athletic or creative.
This is also the time to discover a latent talent and prepare for academic discipline for which a student is truly passionate. Along with impeccable writing skills, this is the "something extra" that colleges seek.
At Kent Prep, we prepare students to face and overcome challenges while learning to serve others. Through care and discipline, we instill the values academic rigor and self discovery today for a successful tomorrow.
