Since 1974, Camp Horizon has been dedicated to providing a fun summer camp experience for people with special needs. Our accommodations are dorms, sleeping 2 -3 people. However, single rooms might be available. Campers have an option of choosing their roommate. Counselors provide the care & assistance campers (2-3 per counselor) need; including: showering, toileting, dressing, transfers, walking assistance, and much more. A Registered RN is on site 24 hours a day to pass medication, provide first aid, and help with various other needs of campers. Camp activities consist of, but are not limited to: arts & crafts, bowling, talent show, water play, balloon toss, horseback riding, relay race, karaoke, dances, dress up, singing, storytellers, magicians, team games, and much more. A camper evaluation is sent home outlining the camper's experiences each camp session. We can also cater to all sorts of specialized diets (gluten free, lactose intolerant, diabetic, low sodium, etc..), specialized eating assistance (puree, thickened, special silverware, feeding tubes, etc...), and monitoring portion and meal sizes. We try to do our best to make this the best possible vacation for campers, and as easy as we can for caregivers and guardians. If you are interested in finding out more, or touring our facility please let us know. Let us know how we can help you!
