The Oregon Community Sports Arena (OCSA) "Summer of Fun" Athletic Day Camp has been created to give our youth the opportunity to experience all aspects of sport and athletic development. In this day and age we are seeing a lot of very gifted sport-specific athletes that are purely focusing on one activity. This is unfortunately not the best way for our youth to develop. It is very important, especially at a young age, to experience all sports and the different athletic movements that it takes to play them. By experiencing them all and having the opportunity to be properly trained, your youth will become a well rounded athlete, and this practice will reduce the risk of future injury by developing all major muscle groups.
In this summer program, your youth will participate in many different types of athletic activities. The day camp is intended for participants of all abilities ages 8-13 (middle school age group). We will focus on skill development, enjoyment of sports, individual health, social interaction, and fun.
This is not a hockey-only camp, rather it is a multi-sport and activity camp designed to help participants become or stay active and have fun while getting outside a lot. Kids will be exposed to a wide variety of sports in two-hour increments led by our very own Oregon Coaches.
As we believe it is also important to feed the mind along with the body, kids will have time for reading and listening to music (IPod/mp3).
