3-Day Horse & Farm Camp: Children ages 7-11 will be introduced to horsemanship on the first day and depending on each child’s skill level and comfort, we will ride on the second and third days. Horsemanship and theory lessons will introduce children to horse health care such as washing and grooming to feeding and tacking-up. Riding lessons are geared towards the child’s level – no experience is required. If we are able, the kids will go for a trail ride on the last day in Bridle Trails State Park. This is a great camp for little horse enthusiasts and gives kids a safe and fun introduction to our equine friends. The rest of the time will be geared towards outdoor exploration and farm life, such as feeding chickens, horses and goats, cleaning stalls, exploring ponds and streams, identifying plants, picnic around the campfire, learning archery, building log cabins, hiking, learning about Native American culture in tee-pees, and learning old-world crafts.
2-Day Farm Camp will primarily focus on outdoor exploration and farm life. Children ages 5-11 are welcome. The kids will feed chickens, horses and goats, clean stalls, explore ponds and streams, identify plants, picnic around the campfire, learn archery, build log cabins, hike, learn about Native American culture in tee-pees, and learn old-world crafts.
