This summer, The Mayapple School will offer its first Summer Camp sessions with a focus on Nature and Art. Each day, campers will learn about a different topic and participate in related activities, including art. For example, one day might include songs and stories about the water circle, followed by creating a mini water cycle (terrarium). Another day could focus on leaves and trees, followed by a related printmaking or paper making experience. Greenbrier Creek will certainly play a role at our summer camp, and campers will need to use all of their ingenuity on boat making day. Of course, each day will also provide plenty of your child’s favorite: PLAY! Campers can cook in our mud kitchen, build with sticks and loose parts, and cool down in the creek with friends daily. If your child thrives outside, with plenty of creative, hands-on experience, this is her camp! SEEDlings at The Mayapple School is appropriate for children who are fully self-toileting and are ready to benefit from a group experience.
