Shekinah is a place to experience the presence and glory of God through discovery, reflection, interaction, community, and nature. Set in the beautiful North Saskatchewan River valley, summer camp provides the opportunity for campers to disconnect (we have no cell service or wi-fi) and reconnect with God, nature and each other!
What sets Shekinah apart from many other summer camps is our small camp atmosphere. There are 8 counselors that lead groups of up to 6 kids, which means that we can learn each other’s names on the first day; nobody is a stranger!
Our cabins are rustic with no electricity, and that is because we like to spend as much time outside as possible. We make good use of our 287 acres hiking, biking, playing games, and exploring. A highlight for many campers is “overnighter,” where the girls and boys hike to separate camping spots and cook supper, eat s’mores, sing songs, and enjoy the view of the creek-fed ravine below them. Other popular camp activities include canoeing, tubing, disc golf, arts and crafts, camping skills, initiative tasks, climbing wall, and of course our zip line, the Flying Fox!
All of our counselors have graduated high school and are certified in Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C. We have a fully certified lifeguard and all staff running the climbing wall and Flying Fox are certified by the Canadian Ropes Course Company. Shekinah is an accredited camp and a member of the Saskatchewan Camping Association.
