Preparing children to live in THEIR future is designed to help kids understand how the world is changing and how to cope with new situations in a socially responsible way. We want our children to have a framework to solve problems. We are thrilled to offer Chinese as a Second Language as one of our classes this year. Our instructor is not only a native Chinese speaker, but also is getting her master’s degree in childhood education.
To further enhance the language portion of our program, we will also be learning sign language. Expanding our students’ thinking to include those differently-abled can help them be more accepting and understanding. We find music to be an integral part of everything we do at Stony Hill and our summer program is no exception.
Each week we will focus on a specific topic communicated through music, art, physical activities, theatre and discussions. Our socially responsible portion of the program will involve the students in projects benefiting the community and individuals in need.
