Welcome to St. Michael's Summer Camps! We have many camp offerings, all located on the scenic campus of St. Michael’s Country Day School, in historic Newport, Rhode Island. Campers will enjoy our beautiful seven-acre seaside campus overlooking one of Newport’s famous beaches, and have complete access to the school’s facilities, including classrooms, a new library, large art studios, state-of-the-art science labs, a fully equipped theatre, a computer lab, playgrounds and playing fields. In addition, we have a beautiful outdoor swimming pool on the grounds, and all campers get swim time as a refreshing break at the end of a productive day in the theatre. A certified lifeguard is on duty at all times.

St. Michael’s Summer Fun Camp –  (ages 2 – 12) Summer Camp at St. Michael’s has something for everyone, fun for seven weeks beginning in mid-June. With Sports, Art, Enrichment and Day Camps to choose from, there is sure to be something to interest your child. Daily dips in the pool, crafts and story time are just a few features they might experience. Weekly themes range from Chess and Lego Robotics to Soccer and Weird Science – all brought to you by our nurturing instructors and their enthusiastic and caring assistants. Our beautiful 7 acre campus has an in-ground swimming pool (supervised by a lifeguard), two playgrounds, a gaga pit, and our own state-of-the-art theatre. We have something for every camper! Registrations opening in Mid-March - visit our site for the full list of camp activities and details. Theatre at St. Michael’s Camp –   (ages 8 – 18): We invite young performing artists to come together with our talented staff for an amazing summer of theatre! TASM uses each individual's talents to create, rehearse, and produce a unique theatrical event. These events include an original musical and two Shakespearean plays. Campers are involved in all aspects of the production, both onstage and off, developing existing theatre talents (although no previous experience is necessary), learning new skills, and making lifelong friends along the way. TASM sessions this summer include our Teen Shakespeare Intensive “Hamlet” (June 28 – July 10), for ages 13-18, our Original Musical Production (July 6 – July 24) and Shakespeare Camp “Much Ado About Nothing” (July 26 – August 7), both for ages 8-15. TASM also offers a popular tech program for those young thespians who would rather be behind the scenes – they will learn proper use of tools and equipment so they can help with the design and creation of the set, props, costumes, and also run sound, lights, and special effects during rehearsals and performances. All sessions are led and directed by theatre professionals, and the end-of-session productions are invariably well-attended smash hits. We plan to mount full productions of those shows as in past years, possibly with a limited in-person audience, and definitely provide performance videos that can be shared online with families and friends! Cost varies by session, and financial aid is available. To stay informed with our latest additions and announcements, follow us on Instagram @tasmcamp

My son has been going to St. Michael's summer camp since the age of 3! He is now 9 years old and still loves every minute of camp. As a parent, I feel very confident he is in good hands with the camp counselors.
