Swallowdale Camp

Swallowdale Camp has been a leading choice for summer campers for years now. Each summer, campers from all over Canada join together for fun, adventure and learning.

Facilities:

Swallowdale Camp is located on Fairy Lake just outside the town of Huntsville, approximately 230 km north of Toronto and adjacent to the famous Deerhurst Resort.

Our campers live in shared cabins with bunk beds, divided by age and gender. Each cabin is equipped with a toilet and sink.  Separate shower facilities are available. Meals are eaten family-style and are served in the camp dining hall.

Activities:

Our campers are never bored. Each week they choose 5 daily activities from a vast array of options. All activities are instructed and supervised by dedicated camp staff.

Water Sports: Canoeing, Kayaking, Sailing, Windsurfing, Swimming, Fishing

Field & Court Sports: Mountain Biking, Archery, Basketball, Soccer, Tennis, Beach Volleyball, Ball Hockey

Specialty Programmes: Arts & Crafts, Dramatic Arts & Dance, Music/Guitar (introductory), Yoga, Outdoor Survival, Woodworking

Excursions:

Participants receive a full day shopping excursion to the town of Huntsville which operates once per 2-week session.

Optional Excursions:

Optional excursions are offered to all campers at an extra fee. Excursions offered are dependent upon session dates and duration. All excursions are fully supervised by camp staff and include transportation and admission costs. They include excursions to the Niagara Falls and a trip to Canada's Wonderland.

Language Instruction:

ESL is available as an option for the campers, who are beginners to the High Intermediate level. 10 hours per week of ESL is taught by qualified instructors. ESL comprises 2 of 5 activity periods daily.

LIT Programme:

Campers who are 16 years of age are invited to apply to participate in our Leadership Programme. This programme is designed to provide young people with an opportunity to develop awareness of social responsibility, while nurturing their individuality and self-confidence. Participants gain hands-on experience and develop strong leadership skills.

Transportation:

We offer flexible session dates and optional transfer services from Toronto's Pearson International Airport or Union Station.
