For over 60 years, the Beauvoir Summer Program, located at Beauvoir, the National Cathedral Elementary School, has been offering quality summer programming for the early learner. This year the seven week program will begin on June 20th and run through the week of August 5th. Beauvoir has found a successful recipe for creating a safe, fun and nurturing learning environment that offers many avenues of exploration for young children. We take a unique and age appropriate learning facility, add some teachers who specialize in early childhood education and sprinkle in interesting and engaging program themes explored through hands-on and minds-on activities. Mix it all together and you get the Beauvoir Summer Program, quite simply the best way for your early learner to spend the summer. What Ages Does the Camp Serve? Since the camps serve the same ages that Beauvoir sees during the school year, our site is completely designed for young children. Our Fireflies are the youngest campers at three years of age and our oldest campers are eleven. There are multiple age-appropriate playgrounds, a lifeguard attended pool for older swimmers and a shallow wading pool for younger campers and all the individual camp spaces are created with kids in mind. Our Experienced Counselors Most of our Lead Counselors are experienced professional teachers. Some are Beauvoir teachers while others teach at the other distinguished schools in the D.C. area. All of our counselor assistants are recent high school graduates or college students who have a real interest in the education field. Every member of our staff approaches their job with your child’s welfare as their number one priority. We understand that when children feel safe they are ready to have fun and learn. Staff will take care of all of your camper’s needs, including providing a well-balanced lunch and a morning snack. Our camps are designed to fit into the varied and busy lifestyles of today’s families. By offering our Before Camp Program and our After Camp Program we make it easy for you to create a schedule that works best for you. We even have an educational and exciting Counselor in Training Program for your “tweens and teens” so everyone can get in on the fun. Simply put, the Beauvoir Summer Program has the answer to your summer camp questions!
