As an AMIGOS Volunteer, you live with a host family in Latin America for 6-8 weeks during your summer break, working closely with one or two other AMIGOS Volunteers, as well as with youth in the community. You will recieve the training you need before-hand and the support you need during your stay to collaborate with the community. Together, you will complete a variety of educational, environmental and community health projects, and carry out a "Community Based Initiative (CBI)" project that uniquely meets the needs of your host community.
Amigos de las Américas has 47 years of experience in facilitating community development programs in Latin America. We are dedicated to building partnerships to empower young leaders, advance community development, and strengthen multicultural understanding in the Americas. AMIGOS believes in the power and capability of young people to change our world!
