Take part in a real-life rocket campaign. Where the sun doesn’t set. Surrounded by some of the brightest minds from around the world.
Sound too good to be true? Think again. Welcome to European Space Camp, where all of the above is possible and lots more besides.
European Space Camp enables students between the ages of 17 and 20 to take control of every aspect of a rocket campaign, including circuit making, telemetry and of course the launch itself, under the supervision of some of Europe’s best rocket scientists. The camp lasts one week at the Andøya Rocket Range in Norway, the northernmost permanent launch facility in the world. Participants are also privileged enough to listen to lectures on topics ranging from Rocket Physics to the Northern Lights from some of Europe’s best scientists.
However, it’s not all work and no play! There are a whole host of social activities organised throughout the week including swimming in the midnight ocean, a GPS treasure hunt and going on a whale safari.
Interested? Applicants should be fluent in English and have a passion for Space and Rocket Physics. A strong grasp of Mathematics and Physics is highly desirable. Applications will open by the 15th of January 2011.
