What does a Council member do?

Meet curators and staff behind the scenes of the National Museum of American History (NMAH)

Explore connections between past events and present day issues
-
Participate in fun hands-on activities and creative programing

Craft a final report to shape future teen programing at the museum

Speak up and out as a youth advocate
What is the commitment for being a Council member?
-
From 10am-4pm daily for two weeks, July 13-24th at the National Museum of American History at 14th St. and Constitution Ave, NW, Washington, DC, 20001.

Eligibility:
• Applicants must be 15-17 years old
• Applicants must be US citizens or US permanent residents
• Applicants must live in the Washington, DC, metropolitan region (DC, MD or VA)
• Have an interest in history, social justice, or museum education
Application Procedure: Submit a complete application online, the parental permission form and one letter of recommendation from the reference that you list
