Cheley Colorado Camps

Why Hike in our backcountry, ride horses on our rugged trails and breathe fresh mountain air all summer long? It comes with the job. The Cheley summer staff is made up of approximately 210 people who are hired from all over the United States and other countries. Much of the non-summer months are focused on bringing together the strongest group of staff possible for each summer. We travel to many college campuses and interview many other applicants over the phone. We work toward a common goal of making the summer a safe, fun and enriching experience for all of our campers. Cheley seems to attract people with similar objectives and ideals to come together for a summer to make a difference. You will have the opportunity to establish many friendships as you work closely with other members of the staff. Cheley provides an outstanding environment to meet remarkable people. Your summer will begin with eight to ten days of staff training. During this time, you will be exposed to professionals in the fields of child development, forests and parks, psychology, and wilderness medicine. You will learn about leadership, team building, and how to be effective with children while being motivated by inspiring speakers to make a difference in the campers’ lives.
