INTERN POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN BUCKS COUNTY, PA and/or MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PA
We are accepting resumes from Theatre and Dance Majors/Minors (or equivalent experience) for intern positions for the 2005 Summer Performing Arts Workshops for Children & Teens.
Applicants should be 19 years old and above.
INTERNS will work with Guest Artists from Broadway, TV, & film and assist participating students in theatre and dance classes and rehearsals. Responsibilities include assisting teachers, rehearsal assistance, dance captain, & production, depending on your area of expertise & goals. Performance Interns will be featured in the culminating performance (pending audition).
Theatre Arts Center, in its 18th year in Bucks County, PA, expanded to Queens, NYC in 1999. The Summer Performing Arts Workshop is a training program for theatre students ages 6-19. Students rehearse and perform a musical and take classes in acting, voice, jazz, tap, ballet, mime, on-camera, audition, and more. The workshop dates are:
DOYLESTOWN, BUCKS COUNTY, PA: June 20 – August 21 (Some Flexibility). Also includes a children's theatre series that performs at two professional theatres. Technical internships in costumes, set design, & stage managing/touring also available at this location based in Doyleatown, PA (central Bucks County).
BRYN ATHYN, PA (N. Philly Suburbs): August 1-21. Broadway musical theatre workshop for ages 9-19. Two performance companies. Choreographed by Broadway Guest Artists. Seeking Dance Captains.
NEW YORK: July 5 through 31, Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with final-weekend performances. This workshop is located in summer residence at the Professional Performing Arts Center at Queensborough Community College in Bayside, Queens.
The Theatre Arts Center shows in all three locations choreographed and staged by Broadway Guest Artists.
Teachers and Guest Choreographers are Broadway Artists and Theatre Professionals, such as Angelo Fraboni (The Full Monty), Amy F. Karlein (42nd Street), Arte Phillips (Recently on Broadway in Swing), Gary John LaRosa (professional director/choreographer and Broadway's Fiddler), Ed Ferron (New York City's largest film school).
