Job Description
Applicants should have a Bachelors degree in Environmental Studies, Education, Parks and Recreation, Biological & Earth Sciences, Youth Development, or other related fields. Applicants should have at least one year experience with Summer Camp Programs. Individuals must have a commitment to the environment, commitment to youth development, an interest in adventure-based or experiential education, and well developed communication skills. Creativity, enthusiasm and a love for hard work in a team atmosphere are also crucial to successful hiring and job completion. DUTIES PERFORMED 1) Provide instruction and leadership for all areas of summer camp programs including environmental education, teambuilding and ropes courses, and other camp activities. 2) Assist the Director Team in preparing extensive training programs that prepare staff in content knowledge, program delivery and safety procedures. 3) Participate in logistical & preparatory duties for summer camp programs. 4) Enhance the mental, physical, and social development of the youth participating in the program by being a positive role model, a creative and energetic teammate and an excited leader. 5) Assist the Director Team with staff and program evaluations. 6) Understand and implement American Camp Association Standards. 7) Assist with program, curriculum, materials and staff development. 8) Be an Outdoor Education Instructor for Fall/Spring School Programs.Job Criteria
