Job Description
Camp Skylemar seeks current teacher to lead Arts & Crafts program. The Arts & Crafts Director is responsible for planning and leading the Arts & Crafts program during camp sessions. It is the responsability of the Arts & Craft Director to organize and manage the "Hilltop" arts area, and plan the summer's Arts and Crafts projects. The Arts and Crafts program should provide campers with a creative outlet. In the past the program included creative and pre-fab art projects, painting, macrame, plus whatever else the director likes to teach. Director should have a working knowledge of basic crafts. The kids, aged 7-12, are taught in small groups. The director completely runs the program, plans projects, purchases materials, and works with each child individually. The director also provides general artistic flair to camp, assisting with stage scenery and simple signage. She or he will sometimes be assisted by a college student who is one of the counselors. We provide housing, meals, transportation expenses, laundry service, and the highest camp salary that we know of ($250-500 per week, depending on experience). We offer full scholarship for our staff members with boys of camp age. The place is beautiful and inspiring - mountain views, springfed lake and 200 wooded acres. The season runs June 12 - August 13.
