Alhambra, the city of homes, is home to the Alhambra Civic Center Library, which hosts a family story time for ages 3 to 12 years old every week, and an early literacy story time for children 0 to 2 years old. The library also has a computer lab for children only, where the young ones can use the internet, or play games. Spark Summer School offers summer camp programs that include a number of enrichment activities including young scientists, cooking classes, a business academy, and movie days. In the business academy, the campers will set up their own student run business.

For the kids entering 1st through 6th grades, Camp Ramona is a wonderful day camp. The camp is held in a private location with a swimming pool and gymnasium, biking and hiking trails. Here they can join other kids for fun, kid-focused activities like scavenger hunts and children’s talent shows. Summerkids has a wide range of summer activities to keep your kids stimulated and eager to attend each day. The activities are divided by age and your kids can choose from 50 to 60 things they may want to participate in with options like archery, gardening, cooking, and hiking.

You can send your kids to camp half days or for full days at the Payke Gymnastics Academy, where they can either move their bodies on the obstacle courses, or they can sit and enjoy craft activities. Camp Kids Klub offers science camp, paintball and horseback riding during the summer and offerings during the winter and spring as well. Your kids can have a world of fun at PopRock Summer Camps with glee camp, and voice, dance, acting, and rock band camps. Voice camp can teach your young singers about styles of vocal singing, and acting camp will expose them to on-camera work.

Creative World Art Center holds a summer art camp where your kids can be stimulated with fine art activities like sculpture and collage, or they can choose 3 electives from a variety of choices that include script writing and stop motion animation. This is a camp that will help your kids to develop their imagination and gain confidence when they see what they were able to create.
