Lancaster has many charming, kid-friendly activities to offer. Explore the Hands-on House, get lost in a corn maze at Cherry Crest Adventure Farm, and chug along Amish countryside on a steam train.

Plenty of fun awaits at the Hands-on House Children's Museum. Kids use their imaginations as they navigate through the playful exhibits. Children can pick up groceries and pretend to be a mailman at the Mostly Make-Believe area. The new Mason's Active Adventure Garden provides an outdoor space to run, play, slide, and explore nature. Take a class with a small group geared towards your child's age, or try a free “pop-in” program, with themed stories like Barnyard Buddies or Where Do You Hide a Dinosaur?

Outdoor fun awaits at Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. Work your way through the huge interactive corn maze, and choose your own difficulty level. Learn all about farming on a wagon ride through the corn field, cuddle with a chick, and visit goats, pigs, and llamas. Watch a cow being milked and learn how to make butter. Be sure to visit the farm on special event days like Family Fun, Flashlight Maze, and Pumpkin Madness Festival.

Learn about the Amish and Pennsylvania Dutch cultures while aboard an authentically restored steam train at the Strasburg Railroad. Depart on a regular steam train or a miniature Pufferbelly from the historic Strasburg Station for a scenic ride through the lush Amish countryside. Test your strength by operating a Pump Car or a hand-propelled Cranky Car. Ride during the holiday season to pick out your own Christmas tree along the way, or join Thomas the Tank Engine for a day filled with Thomas stories and a chance to meet Sir Topham Hatt.
