Indiana, home of the Hoosiers and full of hospitable people, is a choice destination for those looking for a getaway. Check out one of the biggest parks in America for all day activities for your active family. Zoos and museums will give hours of entertainment and fascinating exhibits. Indiana specialties like the speedway and yearly fair offer their share of thrills as well.

Climb your way up natural sand dunes at Dunes National Lakeshore. The dunes follow fifteen miles of Lake Michigan's shores, so kids have lots of room to run around, fly kites, roll down dunes, or hike through the wetlands and forests. Campsites are also available for an overnight adventure. Eagle Creek Park is one of the largest municipal parks in America and its many acres of forest and water encourage endless activities. In the summer, bring your blankets and lawn chairs for a picnic and music at the concert series.

Marvel at over 1,000 animals at Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. Let your little ones go on the kids rides and engage in the petting zoo. Lions, penguins, lynxes, sharks, and seals are some of the many animals that children can see and learn about up close. There is also an Indonesian rainforest, where you can come face to face with pythons and Komodo dragons! The Children's Museum of Indianapolis houses exhibits that will blow your child's mind, including Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Dinosphere, and Fireworks of Glass. Little tots can hop on the carousel and enjoy a theatrical performance of dramatic and imaginative tales.

Join the IMS Kids Club at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where kids can score a t-shirt, activity booklet, school supplies, hot wheels car, and free entry to racing events with an adult ticket. Besides exciting races and grands prix, the speedway also hosts concerts featuring artists such as The Rolling Stones. In the summer, head to the Indiana State Fair for the Family Fun Park, where stunt team performances, go karts, and tractor pulls will keep everyone entertained. Be sure to check out the Dance Stage schedule for a variety of dance performances such the Howdown Express.
